Diego has worked for over twenty five years as the Director and Restaurant Manager of The Waterside Inn, one of the most well-known and influential restaurants in the world. He is a legendary figure, awarded the Cavaliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (the equivalent of the knighthood) by the Italian Government in 2012 for his services to the hospitality and catering industry. He is also only the third ever recipient of the Grand Prix de L’Art de la Salle presented to him by the International Academy of Gastronomy in 2010.

Diego has served global leaders, the Royal family on many occasions, and Hollywood film stars. A mentor to hundreds of young men and women worldwide and an inspiration to many thousands, he has also provided training and guidance on customer service to corporate organisations beyond the hospitality and catering industry. 

The book explains Diego’s philosophy and his very practical approach to creating and, importantly, maintaining exceptional customer service and it teaches how best to provide it within the hospitality and catering industry.
